Why Excellent Options Matter So Much

In MU Online S6, the difference between an average character and an optimized character often comes down to the Excellent item options. A +13 item with the wrong options loses to a +9 with the right options for your build. This guide details exactly which options to prioritize for each class and build.

Nota: Excellent items can have 1 or 2 random options. Available options vary by slot type (weapon, armor, accessory). Not all options exist in all slots.

Excellent Options: What Each One Does

Before choosing, understand what each option provides:

Weapon Options:

  • Excellent Damage Rate — Increases excellent damage rate (hits that deal bonus damage)
  • Increase Attack Speed +7 — +7 attack speed
  • Increase Minimum Attack — Increases minimum damage
  • Increase Maximum Attack — Increases maximum damage
  • Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% — Increases skill damage by 10%
  • Mana Recovery +8 — Recovers 8 mana per hit

Armor/Helmet/Pants/Gloves/Boots Options:

  • Increase Maximum HP +4% — Increases maximum HP by 4%
  • Increase Maximum Mana +4% — Increases maximum mana by 4%
  • Increase Maximum AG +4% — Increases maximum AG by 4%
  • Excellent Damage Rate — Excellent damage rate
  • Reflect Damage 4% — Reflects 4% of received damage
  • Reduce Damage 4% — Reduces received damage by 4%
  • HP Recovery +8 — Recovers 8 HP per second
Atenção: Armor options apply per individual piece, not the full set. A complete set with all pieces having +HP can sum up to 20% additional HP (5 pieces x 4%).

Blade Master (DK → Blade Knight → Blade Master)

Tank/STR PvM Build (Level 400: 300 STR, 150 AGI, 150 VIT, minimal ENE remainder)

Main Weapon (Two-Handed Sword, e.g., Sword of Destruction or Explosion Blade):

Priority 1: Increase Maximum Attack + Increase Minimum Attack
Priority 2: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Excellent Damage Rate
Priority 3: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% (for farming with Twisting Slash)

Armors (Dragon Set or Dark Legendary Set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Armor: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Pants: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Reflect Damage 4%
Gloves: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Increase Maximum AG +4%
Boots: Increase Maximum HP +4% + HP Recovery +8
Dica: With 5 armor pieces each having "+HP +4%", you accumulate +20% maximum HP. For a Blade Master with 350 VIT (equivalent to ~6,650 base HP), this represents approximately +1,330 extra HP — crucial for survivability in Vulcanus and Acheron.

Shield (if using 1H + Shield build):

Priority: Excellent Damage Rate + Increase Maximum HP +4%

AGI/PvP Build (Level 400: 150 STR minimum for equipment, 350 AGI, 100 VIT)

Weapon (Spada or Bone Blade +11 or higher):

Priority 1: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Excellent Damage Rate
Priority 2: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Increase Maximum Attack

Armors:

Helmet: Excellent Damage Rate + Increase Maximum AG +4%
Armor: Reduce Damage 4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Pants: Reflect Damage 4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Gloves: Increase Maximum AG +4% + Excellent Damage Rate
Boots: Increase Maximum AG +4% + HP Recovery +8

Grand Master (DW → Soul Master → Grand Master)

Full ENE Build (Level 400: 100 STR for equipment, 30 AGI, rest ENE ~550+)

Nota: Grand Master relies almost 100% on ENE for damage. Prioritize options that increase skill damage and mana regeneration — without mana, there's no damage.

Weapon (Staff of Destruction, Chaos Dragon Axe, or Superior Staff):

Priority 1: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Mana Recovery +8
Priority 2: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Increase Maximum Attack
Priority 3: Mana Recovery +8 + Excellent Damage Rate

Armors (Legendary Set or Grand Soul Set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Armor: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Pants: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Gloves: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum AG +4%
Boots: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + HP Recovery +8

Why Mana +4% on every piece? With high ENE (~550), the Grand Master has an elevated mana base. Each +4% mana per piece amplifies that value. 5 pieces = +20% total mana, allowing you to cast Chain Lightning and Evil Spirit non-stop in Tarkan and Aida.

Dica: At the Tarkan spot (Tarkan 1, coordinates ~100,100 to 160,160 — Zaikan and Mutant area), with "+Skill +10%" on the weapon and "Mana Recovery +8", the Grand Master can sustain Electric Spark/Chain Lightning continuously without mana potions. Ideal for solo farming.

High Elf (Elf → Muse Elf → High Elf)

AGI Archer PvM Build (Level 400: 200 STR for equipment, 400 AGI, 50 VIT)

Weapon (Bow: Great Reign Crossbow, Elf Crossbow +11, or Crystal Crossbow):

Priority 1: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Excellent Damage Rate
Priority 2: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Increase Maximum Attack
Priority 3: Increase Minimum Attack + Increase Maximum Attack

Armors (Wind Set or Vine/Silk Set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Excellent Damage Rate
Armor: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Pants: Increase Maximum AG +4% + Excellent Damage Rate
Gloves: Increase Maximum AG +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Boots: Increase Maximum AG +4% + HP Recovery +8
Atenção: The AGI Archer High Elf depends on attack speed to maximize DPS with Multi-Shot and Arrow Rain. Without at least one "+Attack Speed +7" option on the weapon, the attack rate stays far below its maximum potential. Prioritize this above everything else.

Buff Support Build (Level 400: 100 STR, 100 AGI, 200 VIT, rest ENE)

Weapon:

Priority 1: Mana Recovery +8 + Increase Maximum Mana (via armor options)

Armors:

All pieces: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%

Duel Master (MG — no 1st/2nd Quest, no Wing L1)

STR+ENE Hybrid Build (Level 400: 250 STR, 100 AGI, 50 VIT, 200 ENE)

Nota: The Duel Master is the only class that uses both STR and ENE simultaneously for damage — STR for physical sword damage and ENE for Power Slash and Gigantic Storm. Therefore, Excellent options must cover both.

Weapon (Sword + Staff dual, or MG-specific weapon like Sparda):

Physical Weapon (Sword):
Priority 1: Increase Maximum Attack + Excellent Damage Rate
Priority 2: Increase Attack Speed +7 + Increase Maximum Attack

Magic Weapon (Staff):
Priority 1: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Mana Recovery +8
Priority 2: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Excellent Damage Rate

Armors (Volcano Set or hybrid set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Excellent Damage Rate
Armor: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Pants: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Increase Maximum Mana +4%
Gloves: Excellent Damage Rate + Increase Maximum AG +4%
Boots: HP Recovery +8 + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Dica: In Aida (classic spot: Aida 1, Condor Feather area, ~80,120), the STR+ENE Duel Master uses Gigantic Storm for groups and Power Slash for isolated mobs. With "+Skill +10%" on the staff weapon and "+Attack +Max" on the sword, you maximize both combat styles.

Lord Emperor (DL → Lord Emperor)

Full CMD + ENE Build (Level 400: 50 STR, 50 AGI, 100 VIT, 150 ENE, rest CMD ~250+)

Nota: The Lord Emperor uses CMD to increase the number and power of summoned Horsemen/Dark Raven, and ENE for lightning skills (Lightning and Chaotic Diseier). CMD is the most important stat for this class.

Weapon (Scepter: Dark Scepter, Soleil Scepter):

Priority 1: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Excellent Damage Rate
Priority 2: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Mana Recovery +8

Armors (Dark Master Set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Increase Maximum Mana +4%
Armor: Reduce Damage 4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Pants: Increase Maximum HP +4% + Reflect Damage 4%
Gloves: Increase Maximum AG +4% + Excellent Damage Rate
Boots: HP Recovery +8 + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Atenção: The Lord Emperor does NOT have a Level 1 Wing like most classes — their wings start at Level 2 (Wing of Despair). Therefore, in the early-mid game, the build relies even more on Excellent item bonuses to compensate for the lack of Wing L1.

Dimension Master (Summoner → Bloody Summoner → Dimension Master)

Full ENE Build (Level 400: 100 STR for equipment, 30 AGI, rest ENE ~550+)

Weapon (Book of Neil, Book of Lagle, Deadly Staff):

Priority 1: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Mana Recovery +8
Priority 2: Increase Attack Power of Skill +10% + Excellent Damage Rate
Dica: The Dimension Master uses skills like Requiem, Drain Life, and Pollution, all scaling with ENE. With "+Skill +10%" on the weapon, each Requiem cast on mob groups in Karutan (spot: Karutan 1, ~130,70 — Persona and Schriker area) results in significantly higher damage.

Armors (Valiant Set or Iris Set):

Helmet: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Armor: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Reduce Damage 4%
Pants: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum HP +4%
Gloves: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + Increase Maximum AG +4%
Boots: Increase Maximum Mana +4% + HP Recovery +8

How to Obtain Excellent Items

The process for obtaining Excellent items with the right options:

Method 1 — Direct Farming:
Kill high-level mobs (Lost Tower 7, Tarkan, Aida, Karutan)
→ Stronger mobs drop Excellent items more frequently
→ Options are random — patience is required

Method 2 — Chaos Machine:
Combine bad Excellent items + Jewels of Chaos/Bless/Soul
→ Chaos Machine combinations can create new Excellent items
→ Failure risk exists depending on the server

Method 3 — Player Trading:
Buy through player-to-player trading
→ Always verify options before closing any trade
→ Items with 2 ideal options are worth significantly more
Nota: In S6 servers, the Excellent options on an item CANNOT be rerolled or changed after creation. The item dropped with those options and will stay that way. For this reason, make sure you are buying or using an item with the correct options before investing Jewels of Bless/Soul to upgrade its level.

Prioritization for Players with Limited Zen

If you cannot have the perfect setup immediately, follow this order:

1. First: secure the correct weapon option (this is where damage gain is greatest)
2. Second: helmet with +HP or +Mana (greatest isolated impact per piece)
3. Third: armor with Reduce Damage (survivability)
4. Fourth: complete the remaining pieces gradually
Dica: An Excellent +9 weapon with both ideal options generally outperforms an Ancient +7 weapon with generic options. Invest in the weapon first before completing the Excellent armor set.

Perguntas frequentes

How many Excellent options can one item have?

An Excellent item can have between 1 and 2 Excellent options, randomly selected from the pool available for that slot type (weapon, armor, helmet, pants, gloves, boots, shield).

Does Excellent increase skill damage or only physical damage?

It depends on the option. 'Increase Attack Power of Skill +10%' increases skill damage directly. 'Increase Maximum Attack' and 'Increase Minimum Attack' increase base physical/magical damage. For caster classes like Grand Master and Dimension Master, prioritize skill and mana options.

Is it worth using Excellent items without sockets in endgame?

Yes, especially if they have the right options. An Excellent +11+16 with both ideal options for your build can outperform a poorly configured Ancient item without sockets. The combination of Excellent + Ancient with correct options is the ultimate setup.

How do I identify the options on an Excellent item?

Excellent items appear with blue/gold text in the name. To see the options, simply hover over the item or open it in your inventory. Each option has a descriptive name such as 'Increase HP +4%' or 'Excellent Damage Rate'.
