Introduction: The Evolution of the MU Continent

MU Online underwent profound transformations between Season 1 and Season 6. Each season added not just new content, but restructured fundamental game mechanics — from the class evolution system to available maps, item systems, events, and character progression. This guide traces that journey in detail, with special focus on additions and structural changes in each Season.

Nota: This article covers MU Online from Season 1 through Season 6 Episode 3, considered by many players as the "golden era" of the game before the major overhauls of modern seasons.

Season 1 to 2: Laying the Foundations

What was available at launch

Season 1 established the foundations of MU Online with a lean but functional content set:

  • 3 starting classes: Dark Knight, Dark Wizard, and Fairy Elf
  • Available maps: Lorencia, Noria, Devias, Dungeon (3 floors), Lost Tower (7 floors), and Atlans
  • Evolution system: 1st Quest (level 150) and 2nd Quest (level 220) for DK, DW, and Elf
  • Jewel system: Bless, Soul, Life, and Chaos
  • Events: Blood Castle and Devil Square
Class1st Evolution (Lv 150)2nd Evolution (Lv 220)

Dark WizardSoul MasterGrand Master
Fairy ElfMuse ElfHigh Elf

Season 2 was essentially an expansion of S1, adding the Icarus map (floating island), new high-level monsters, and refinements to the crafting system via the Chaos Goblin.

> [!TIP] > Lost Tower has 7 floors in S1-S2, with floors 5, 6, and 7 being intense farming zones for level 200+ players. Floor 7 monsters (Devil and Devil's Eye) drop high-level items at a higher rate than the Dungeon.

Season 3: The Arrival of Advanced Classes

Season 3 marked a significant turning point with the introduction of two new classes:

New Classes in S3:
Magic Gladiator (MG) → Duel Master
  └── No 1st Quest
  └── No 2nd Quest
└── No Wings L1 (starts with Wings L2)
└── Combines DK + DW magic abilities

Dark Lord (DL) → Lord Emperor
  └── Exclusive stat: COMMAND (CMD)
└── CMD controls Summon strength and count
└── Can summon Dark Horse and Dark Raven
└── Uses Scepter as main weapon

The MG is unique in bypassing the traditional evolution quests. Upon reaching level 220, it becomes Duel Master directly without intermediate steps. As compensation, it cannot use Level 1 Wings.

The Dark Lord introduces the COMMAND (CMD) attribute, exclusive to this class. Each point in CMD increases the effectiveness and number of creatures the DL can summon. CMD also affects the damage and HP of the Dark Horse (mount) and Dark Raven (attack pet).

Season 3 also added the Tarkan and Kalima maps (floors 1 through 7), creating high-level farming zones and the path to the boss Kundun in Kalima 7.

Season 4: Ancient Sets and the Item System Overhaul

Season 4 was revolutionary for the item system with the introduction of Ancient Sets, items with special bonuses activated when multiple pieces from the same set are equipped.

Ancient Sets by Class in S4-S6

Ancient bonuses are activated based on piece count:

  • 2 pieces: minor bonus active
  • Full set: complete bonus active, which can include damage, defense, extra HP, or mana/life recovery

> [!WARNING] > Ancient Sets have fixed pre-determined options, unlike Excellent items whose options are randomized. A Hyon Dragon Armor will always have the same Ancient bonuses — what varies is the presence or absence of additional Excellent options on that same item.

Season 4 also introduced the Jewel of Creation and Jewel of Guardian, expanding crafting possibilities. Jewel of Harmony followed in a subsequent expansion.

Season 5: Summoner, Crywolf, and Kanturu

Season 5 brought the sixth and final class of classic MU Online:

Summoner → Bloody Summoner → Dimension Master
└── Uses Staff and Stick as weapons
  └── Area damage abilities
└── Exclusive sets: Gaia (Dark Soul) and Broy (Venom Mist)
  └── No exclusive mount
└── Temporarily summons creatures via skills

Alongside Summoner, S5 added:

  • Crywolf Fortress map: group defense event against Kundun's forces
  • Kanturu 1, 2, and 3: new high-level maps with boss Nightmare in Kanturu 3
  • Fenrir system: creation of the Fenrir pet via fragment combination at the Chaos Goblin

Summoner's Ancient Sets

Ancient SetEquipment NameFocus
GaiaDark Soul SetBalanced (ENE + VIT)

Fenrir requires Fenrir Feathers obtained from Crywolf and other maps, combined with specific Jewels at the Chaos Goblin. There are 3 Fenrir tiers:

  1. Standard Fenrir: increased movement speed
  2. Fenrir +9: additional attack
  3. Black Fenrir: PK version (obtained differently)

Season 6: The Apex of Classic MU

Season 6 represents the consolidation of all previous content alongside significant new additions:

All 6 Classes in S6 (Complete Summary)

Dark Wizard → Soul Master → Grand Master
Fairy Elf → Muse Elf → High Elf

Summoner → Bloody Summoner → Dimension Master
Nota: Season 6 does NOT include Rage Fighter (RF) or Flame of Condor. These were introduced in later seasons. Any server claiming to be "S6" while featuring RF or Flame of Condor is technically running post-Season 6 content.

> [!WARNING] > The Flame of Condor does NOT exist in Season 6. Level 380 items are obtained via direct drops from specific bosses, not through combination with a Flame of Condor. That mechanic is exclusive to seasons after S6.

Master Level System in S6

Season 6 introduced the Master Skill Tree, unlocked after reaching the maximum level (400). The character then earns Master Level points that can be distributed across a skill tree exclusive to each class's third evolution form.

Each class has its own tree with approximately 30 to 40 nodes distributed across 4 main branches, offering passive bonuses and new active skills unique to the final form.

Perguntas frequentes

How many classes are in Season 6?

Season 6 has exactly 6 playable classes: Dark Knight (DK), Dark Wizard (DW), Fairy Elf, Magic Gladiator (MG), Dark Lord (DL), and Summoner. Each has 3 evolution forms, except the MG who goes directly to the max evolution as Duel Master without completing 1st and 2nd evolution quests.

Does the Magic Gladiator need quests to evolve?

No. The MG is a special class that skips both the 1st and 2nd evolution quests entirely. It evolves directly into Duel Master upon reaching the required level, and cannot equip Level 1 Wings (Wings L1), going straight to Level 2 Wings instead.

Which Jewels exist in Season 6?

S6 has 7 main Jewels: Jewel of Bless, Jewel of Soul, Jewel of Life, Jewel of Chaos, Jewel of Creation, Jewel of Guardian, and Jewel of Harmony. The Flame of Condor does NOT exist in Season 6 — it was added in later seasons.

Is the Rage Fighter available in Season 6?

No. The Rage Fighter (RF) does not exist in Season 6. It was introduced in seasons after S6. The 6 classes of S6 are: DK, DW, Elf, MG, DL, and Summoner.
