The Pentagram is the elemental customization system in MU Online from Season 12 onward. Unlike the Excellent or Ancient systems — which add fixed bonuses to equipment — the Pentagram introduces a layer of 5 interactive elements that combine to create unique build effects. This guide details each piece, the combinations between them and the real numeric benefits of each configuration.

Atenção: This system does NOT exist in Season 6. The overwhelming majority of Brazilian private servers run S6. If you're on an S6 server, the deep customization systems are: Excellent options, Ancient sets (Hyon, Gywen, Sebone, Kantata, Eplate, Agnis, Ceto, Drake, Gaia, Broy, Sylion, Heras, Chrono, Anubis, Enis, Aruan), Socket Items and Jewel of Harmony. This guide applies exclusively to S12+ servers.

What the Pentagram is — the item's structure

The Pentagram is a special item that occupies its own slot in the character interface — completely separate from armor, weapon, wings, ring and pendant. Visually it's represented by a five-pointed star, each point corresponding to an element.

Pentagram structure:

Available slots (1 per element):
→ Fire slot — takes a Fire Errtel
→ Water slot — takes a Water Errtel
→ Earth slot — takes an Earth Errtel
→ Wind slot — takes a Wind Errtel
→ Darkness slot — takes a Darkness Errtel

Unlocked-slot progression:
→ Pentagram level 1: 1 active slot
→ Pentagram level 2: 2 active slots
→ Pentagram level 3: 3 active slots
→ Pentagram level 4: 4 active slots
→ Pentagram level 5: all 5 slots active

Refining the Pentagram:
→ Uses Jewel of Bless and Jewel of Soul as base-level items
→ The higher the Pentagram's level: the more slots unlocked
→ Maximum Pentagram level: varies by version (usually level 5 = complete)
Nota: A level 1 Pentagram with 1 level 15 Errtel of the right element frequently beats a level 5 Pentagram with 5 random level 1 Errtels. The quality of the Errtels carries more weight than the number of filled slots.

The Errtels — the Pentagram's pieces

The Errtels are the elemental stones socketed into the Pentagram. Each Errtel has three defining attributes: element, type and level.

Errtel types

TypeMain RoleBest For
AttackIncreases damage of the corresponding elementDPS, intensive PvM, PvP burst
DefenseIncreases resistance to the corresponding elementTanks, support, raid survivability
UtilitySpecial effects (slow, debuff, lifesteal, group buff)PvP control, group support

Errtel levels and numeric impact

Level RangeDamage Bonus (Attack)Resistance Bonus (Defense)Main Source
1 – 5+3% to +8%+2% to +6%Common S12 monsters, smaller boxes
6 – 10+10% to +18%+8% to +14%S12 field bosses, events
11 – 14+20% to +32%+16% to +26%Raid bosses (Medusa, Phoenix)
15 (max)+35% to +50%+28% to +40%Advanced raids, crafting with a level 14 base
Dica: The difference between a level 5 and a level 15 Fire Attack Errtel can be 40% more damage. In terms of impact on the character, raising an Errtel from level 10 to 15 is equivalent to swapping an entire mid-tier set for a superior one.

The 5 elements in detail

Fire element — characteristics:

Fire Attack Errtels:
→ Level 1-5: +3% to +8% fire damage (Nova, Chain Lightning, Rageful Blow)

Synergy between the Pentagram and S12 sets

In Season 12+, sets like Bloodangel, Darkangel and Holyangel have a declared elemental affinity. When the set's element matches the main element of the Errtels equipped in the Pentagram, an active synergy occurs:

How elemental synergy works:

Example — DW with a Fire Holyangel set:
→ Fire Holyangel: +18% base fire damage (set bonus)
→ + Fire Attack Errtel level 12: +24% base fire damage
→ With active synergy: the combined bonuses receive an additional +15%
→ Effective total: (18% + 24%) × 1.15 = +48.3% fire damage

Without synergy (Darkangel set + Fire Errtels):
→ Darkangel: general attack bonus +15% (no fire affinity)
→ + Fire Attack Errtel level 12: +24% fire damage
→ Total: 15% general ATK + 24% fire = no synergy multiplier

Difference: synergy delivers ~15-20% additional efficiency
Nota: The elemental synergy between the Pentagram and the armor set was introduced to force coherent build choices. You can't maximize both systems with divergent elements — the game rewards those who plan the character as a whole.

Frequently asked questions about combinations

Can I use two Errtels of the same element in the Pentagram? Yes. Two Fire Attack Errtels in different slots stack — there's no limit on repeated elements. The only restriction is that each slot only accepts an Errtel of the element corresponding to that slot (the Fire slot only takes a Fire Errtel).

Is a Utility Errtel worth it against an Attack Errtel? It depends on the context. In pure PvM, two Attack Errtels of the same element always beat one Attack + one Utility in terms of DPS. In PvP, Utility Errtels that apply slow or Weakness frequently decide fights — the reduced damage is offset by the control gained.

Which element is the most versatile? Fire for pure DPS, Darkness for PvP, Earth for tanking. If you don't know which to pick, Fire is the most universally valid for most damage characters.

Frequently asked questions

How many slots does the Pentagram have?

The Pentagram has 5 elemental slots, one for each element: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Darkness. Each slot takes an Errtel of the corresponding element. The Pentagram is equipped in a dedicated character slot, separate from armor, weapon and accessories.

Which Errtel element is best for a Dark Wizard?

For a PvM-focused DW, Fire Attack Errtels are the most efficient because they boost Nova and Chain Lightning. For PvP, mixing Fire Attack with Darkness Utility (debuffs) delivers the biggest impact. Level 11-15 Errtels of the right element are worth more than a level 15 of the wrong element.

Does the Pentagram exist in MU Online Season 6?

No. The Pentagram and Errtels are systems exclusive to Season 12 and later. On S6 servers, which make up the bulk of Brazilian private servers, there is no Pentagram. The equivalent customization systems in S6 are: Excellent options, Ancient sets, Socket Items (if the server implements them) and Jewel of Harmony.

How do I raise an Errtel's level?

Combine multiple Errtels of the same element and same level at the S12 crafting NPC. The general rule is: 3 to 5 Errtels of level N + material cost = 1 Errtel of level N+1. Upgrades from level 10 onward have a considerable failure rate — build up a reserve before trying. Errtels destroyed on a failed attempt are not recovered.
