Castle Siege Guide: How to Participate in the Castle Battle
Complete Castle Siege guide for MU Online S6: guild registration, class builds, attack and defense tactics with advanced PvP tips for competitive players.
Castle Siege is the most important large-scale PvP event in MU Online S6. Every week, guilds battle for control of the Lorencia Castle, and whoever dominates it gains economic benefits and prestige that shift the server's balance of power. This guide covers everything: registration, recommended builds, attack and defense tactics.
What is Castle Siege and When Does It Happen
Castle Siege typically occurs on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on server configuration. The event has three phases:
- Registration Phase (Monday–Thursday): guilds register as attackers
- Declaration Phase (Friday): registration confirmation
- Battle (weekend): 2-hour duration at Lorencia Castle
The guild that controls the castle starts as the defender. All guilds registered as attackers must destroy the Castle Seal located at the center of the fortress to win.
How to Register Your Guild
Registration is done by the Guild Master and follows these steps:
1. Access the "Castle Guardian" NPC in Lorencia (coordinates: 130, 85)
2. Select "Castle Siege" → "Register Attacking Guild"
3. Pay the registration fee (server-dependent, typically 10,000,000 Zen)
4. Confirm registration before the deadline (Thursday, 11:59 PM)
5. Optionally register 1 allied guild through the same NPC
For the defending guild, registration is automatic — you simply need to own the castle from the previous week. However, the defending Guild Master must access the NPC to configure the Archer Statues and Cannons positioned on the battlements.
Character Requirements and Recommended Builds
Blade Master (Gate Tank)
The full VIT Blade Master is the guardian of gates and the Seal. With the Combo skill and high defense, it withstands waves of attackers.
Recommended Castle Siege build (level 400):
- STR: 300
- AGI: 150
- VIT: 650 (dump remaining points here)
- ENE: 20 (minimum for skills)
Minimum equipment:
- Armor: Dark Phoenix Set +9+DD+Ref (or Dragon Knight Set +9+DD)
- Weapon: Sword of Destruction +11+Luck or Dark Reign Blade +11
- Shield: Dragon Slayer Shield +9+DD
- Wings: Wing of Storm (DK Level 3 Wing)
Grand Master (Area Damage)
The full ENE Grand Master obliterates groups with Inferno, Nova, and Ice Storm.
Recommended build (level 400):
- STR: 50 (minimum for equipment requirements)
- AGI: 50
- VIT: 150
- ENE: 800+ (dump all remaining points here)

- Armor: Darkangel Set +9+DD+Ref (or Iris Set +9)
- Staff: Rune Bastard Staff +11+Luck or Staff of Destruction +11
- Wings: Wing of Eternal (DW Level 3 Wing)
High Elf (Support and Buffs)
The High Elf is mandatory in any competitive squad. The Soul Barrier buff reduces incoming damage by up to 30%, and Greater Fortitude increases maximum HP. Without a High Elf, your group dies significantly faster.
Recommended build (level 400):
- STR: 200 (to use a competitive bow)
- AGI: 700 (bow damage and attack speed)
- VIT: 200
- ENE: 150 (sufficient for high-level buffs)
Minimum equipment:
- Armor: Darkangel Set +9+DD
- Bow: Great Dragon Crossbow +11+Luck or Silver Bow +11
- Wings: Wing of Illusion (Elf Level 3 Wing)
Lord Emperor (Zone Control)
The high CMD Lord Emperor uses the Dark Horse and Dark Raven to control areas and deal continuous damage.
Recommended build (level 400):
- STR: 150
- AGI: 100
- VIT: 300
- ENE: 150
- CMD: 600+ (dump all remaining points here)
Duel Master (Duels and Corridors)
The STR+ENE hybrid Duel Master is lethal in the castle's narrow corridors.
Recommended build (level 400):
- STR: 400
- AGI: 150
- VIT: 200
- ENE: 400
Attack Tactics
Squad Formation
An ideal attack squad has 5 players:
1x Blade Master (tank and pathfinding)
1x Grand Master or Dimension Master (area damage)
1x High Elf (mandatory buffs)
1x Duel Master or Lord Emperor (secondary damage)
1x DK or DL extra (backup/pressure)
Target Priority Order
Phase 1 → Destroy the Outer Gate (Castle Gate 1)
Phase 2 → Eliminate Archer Statues on the side battlements
Phase 3 → Destroy the Inner Gate (Castle Gate 2)
Phase 4 → Clear defenses near the Seal
Phase 5 → Destroy the Castle Seal to win
The "Gate Rush" Technique
When the outer gate falls, many guilds try to flood in all at once. This is a mistake — defenders are expecting exactly that. The most efficient technique:
1. Send 2 Blade Masters ahead to absorb statue fire
2. Grand Master uses Inferno/Ice Storm on the battlements statues
3. While statues are being destroyed, DL uses Dark Raven to pressure defenders
4. Only then does the full group advance through the gate
Defense Tactics
Statue Positioning
The defending Guild Master can place up to 5 Archer Statues and 2 Cannons. The most efficient configuration:
Statue 1 & 2 → Outer Gate entrance (forces attackers to split attention)
Statue 3 & 4 → Inner corridor (flanking coverage)
Statue 5 → Direct protection of the Seal
Cannon 1 & 2 → Battlement with line-of-sight to Outer Gate
Defensive Formation
Blade Masters → Positioned IN FRONT of the Inner Gate (not inside)
Grand Masters → On side towers, using AoE on attacking groups
High Elfs → Castle center, continuously rebuffing
Lord Emperors → Controlling the flanks with Dark Horse and Raven
Constantly Renewing Buffs
During the 2-hour battle, buffs expire. Designate 1 High Elf exclusively for rebuffing the group every 3-4 minutes. Soul Barrier at level +20 lasts approximately 180 seconds on characters of similar level.
Castle Siege Rewards
The winning guild takes control of Lorencia Castle and all associated benefits:
- Castle Warehouse: access to exclusive items and Jewels via internal NPC
- Tax System: ability to collect a percentage from server-wide commerce (configured by Guild Master)
- Guild Credits: extra guild points for maintenance and expansion
- Prestige: guild name displayed prominently in the server's main ranking
Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Mistake 1: Going in without a squad. Castle Siege is group PvP. Characters without support die in seconds regardless of level.
Mistake 2: Ignoring the Archer Statues. Each statue deals high fixed damage and has long-range attack reach. Attackers who ignore the statues die before reaching the inner gate.
Mistake 3: High Elf attacking instead of buffing. In Castle Siege, 1 High Elf buffing is worth more than 3 High Elfs attacking. Soul Barrier saves lives.
Mistake 4: Attacking the Seal without clearing the room. The Seal has high HP and the defending Guild Master is usually nearby. Without clearing surrounding defenders first, anyone attacking the Seal will die before destroying it.
