The Full Excellent Dream: The Journey for the Perfect Set in MU Online

Building a full excellent set in MU Online is more than a goal — it's an obsession that defines entire careers within the game.

What It Means to Have a Full Excellent Set

In the universe of MU Online, few milestones define an experienced player as clearly as possessing a full excellent set. We are not merely talking about powerful equipment — we are talking about an identity. When a character enters Land of Trials or appears in the middle of a Castle Siege with every piece of armor gleaming with the golden marks of excellent attributes, the message is unmistakable: this player has dedicated time, effort, and intelligence to the game.

The excellent item system is one of the most elegant pillars of MU Online's design. Each item can carry between zero and six special options, generated randomly at the moment the item appears — whether as a monster drop, the result of a Chaos Machine combination, or an event reward. This randomness is brutal and seductive in equal measure. You can farm for weeks and never see the right options appear. Or you can open a chest in Blood Castle 6 and find exactly what you needed. MU Online understands the psychology of variable reward.

Nota: Excellent options were introduced to create horizontal differentiation between players at the same level. Two characters with exactly the same status points can perform radically differently in PvP and PvE depending on the quality of their excellent items — particularly in builds that rely on HP recovery or attack speed optimization.

The Anatomy of a Perfect Set

Before farming blindly, it is essential to understand what makes a set of items truly "perfect" for each class. In MU Online S6, we have six classes with completely distinct needs.

For the Blade Knight, the offensive priority on weapons is clear:

Main Weapon (Sword / Dual Blade):
→ Excellent Damage Rate (increases chance of excellent damage)
→ Increase Damage (flat damage bonus)
→ Increase Attack Speed (when available)

Armor (each piece):
→ Excellent Defense Rate (chance of excellent defense)
→ HP Recovery After Kill (farming sustainability)
→ Decrease Damage (percentage reduction of damage received)

For the Grand Master (evolution of Dark Wizard), priorities shift dramatically. The focus moves to options that amplify magical skills and ensure survival in long-range combat situations, where mana recovery and cast speed are decisive factors.

The High Elf represents an especially interesting case: as the game's most versatile class, capable of supporting entire groups through buffs while simultaneously dealing relevant damage, her perfect set must balance defensive options with bonuses that enhance her support skills. A High Elf with the wrong options might be technically "excellent" in every slot yet still fundamentally underutilized.

The Lord Emperor (Dark Lord evolution) adds a uniquely complex layer: the CMD (Command) attribute directly affects the power of Fenrirs mounted by allies under his command, meaning items that increase ENE or synergize with leadership skills carry strategic value beyond personal benefit.

Dica: Before beginning your full excellent journey, define precisely which combination of options you consider "acceptable" for each slot. Players who pursue absolute perfection frequently become frustrated and abandon the goal. Set a realistic threshold — for example, "minimum 2 relevant excellent options on every piece" is a far more achievable target than "6 perfect options across the board."

The Farming Path: Where and How to Obtain Excellent Items

Farming excellent items in MU Online S6 is not simply a matter of going to the hardest available map. There is a science behind choosing your farming location, and ignoring it means wasting hours of gameplay.

High-level maps like Raklion and Vulcanus have higher excellent item drop rates, but competition in these maps is fierce. Acheron is another standout map, offering excellent endgame rewards for appropriately geared characters. Meanwhile, maps like Aida and Karutan offer an interesting risk-to-reward ratio for characters still developing their power level.

The major bosses are irreplaceable sources of high-value items:

  • Kundun (Kalima 7) is the king of rare drops. A character powerful enough to participate in a competitive Kundun kill is among the top priorities of any serious server community.
  • Nightmare (Kanturu 3) is known for consistent drops of mid-to-high level excellent items, with a more predictable spawn frequency.
  • Selupan (Raklion) is the most challenging PvE encounter in S6, featuring unique mechanics — including poison — that demand optimized builds. The corresponding drops are proportionally valuable.
  • Balgass (Crywolf Fortress) deserves special mention: beyond its own drops, it is the only monster that drops Loch's Feathers, an essential ingredient for crafting Level 3 Wings. Balgass only appears when the Crywolf defense fails — making each of its appearances a server-wide event.

Periodic events are also powerful sources:

  • Blood Castle (1-7) offers rewards scaled with the event level. BC6 and BC7 are viable excellent sources for advanced characters.
  • Devil Square (1-5) rewards participants with drops from elite monsters that do not appear in the open world.
  • Illusion Temple and Imperial Guardian have their own reward tables, featuring items that rarely appear through other means.

The Economics of Items: Trading, Values, and Negotiation

One of the most underestimated aspects of the full excellent journey is its economic dimension. MU Online is, at its core, a decentralized economy where item values are determined by real-time supply and demand within the server community.

Understanding this economy is as important as knowing how to farm. A player who recognizes the value of an excellent item — especially when they find something they personally cannot use but that is BiS for another class — holds a tremendous advantage. Trading a single extremely valuable item for multiple mid-value items that fill their gaps can dramatically accelerate set construction.

Some economic principles every veteran understands:

The relative rarity of combinations matters more than absolute rarity. An item with 4 mediocre options is not necessarily worth more than an item with 2 perfect options for the right class. Learn to evaluate combinations, not just counts.

The server context defines everything. On a young server, a mid-level excellent item may be extraordinarily valuable because few players have reached the point of farming regularly. On mature servers, the same item may be relatively common. Calibrate your trading expectations accordingly.

Community reputation carries real economic value. Players known for fair dealing attract better offers. Players known for attempting to deceive in trades are quickly isolated. In MU Online, your word is part of your equipment.

Atenção: Be suspicious of deals that seem too good to be true. The MU Online trade window demands careful attention: always verify the items on the other player's side before confirming, checking options, refinement level (+X), and the absence of items swapped for visually similar ones. Trade scams are rare but do exist, and MU Online has no transaction reversal mechanism.

The Emotional Dimension: Why This Goal Becomes an Obsession

It would be dishonest to discuss the full excellent journey without acknowledging its psychological dimension. MU Online was designed — consciously or not — to create reward cycles that are profoundly engaging.

Every excellent item that drops is a moment of suspense. Every option that appears is a small victory or a small disappointment. When a piece finally drops with the right options for the slot you have needed for weeks, the satisfaction is genuine and proportional to the effort invested.

But MU Online teaches something subtler as well: the art of appreciating incremental progress. No player assembles a full excellent set in a single day. The journey is made of weeks and months of farming, intelligent trading, event participation, and guild collaboration. Each piece added to the set is a chapter in the character's story.

When you finally stand before the NPC in Lorencia, look at your character, and see every slot gleaming with the golden marks of excellent — that is a moment that genuinely belongs to you. No matter how many players have done the same before. That is your set, earned through your own effort.

And then, inevitably, you begin thinking about upgrading to +13. The journey never truly ends in MU Online. And that is precisely why we keep coming back.

Perguntas frequentes

What are excellent options and which ones are most valuable?

Excellent options are special attributes that appear randomly on items, falling into categories such as damage increase, attack speed, HP/Mana recovery, and reduced damage taken. For most classes, the most sought-after weapon combinations are Excellent Damage Rate + Increase Damage, while on armor pieces HP Recovery After Kill + Excellent Defense Rate form the ideal survival foundation.

How many excellent items make a complete set in MU Online S6?

A complete set varies by class. A Blade Knight, for example, needs helmet, armor, pants, gloves, boots, shield, and weapon — each piece with the correct excellent options. Since each item can have between 1 and 6 excellent options, and you need at least 2-3 specific options per piece, the probability of naturally assembling a truly perfect full excellent set is statistically minuscule.

What is the difference between an excellent item and a high-level ordinary item?

A +13+16 item without excellent options loses to a +9+12 excellent item with strong options in virtually every aspect relevant to advanced builds. Excellent options multiply character effectiveness in ways that simple level bonuses cannot replicate, especially regarding combat sustainability and DPS output in Castle Siege battles.

Is it worth trading items with other players to complete the set?

Absolutely, and this is one of the richest dynamics in MU Online. The excellent item economy creates a trading ecosystem where knowing the real value of each piece is a skill as important as knowing how to play your character. Negotiating with knowledge — understanding which options are rare, which combinations are BiS (Best in Slot) for each class — can save weeks or months of solitary farming.
