Noria and Devias: complete guide to MU Online's second and third maps

Complete guide to Noria and Devias in MU Online: Noria (the Fairy Elf homeland, level 1-30, Chaos Goblin location, Unicorn monsters, early Goblin farming), Devias (the ice map, level 15-50, Yeti/Ice Golem/Assassin, better EXP than Lorencia/Noria), all NPCs in both cities, why Noria matters beyond early levels (Chaos Goblin, Unicorn Horns for Dinorant), and the optimal leveling progression through both maps.

Quick answer

Noria and Devias are the two maps that bridge the gap between Lorencia's beginner area and the mid-level dungeons. Noria is the crafting hub with the Chaos Goblin. Devias is the first map that genuinely tests your survival. Both are essential steps in any character's progression.

Noria and Devias are the two maps that bridge the gap between Lorencia's beginner area and the mid-level dungeons. Noria is the crafting hub with the Chaos Goblin. Devias is the first map that genuinely tests your survival. Both are essential steps in any character's progression.

Dica: The key insight: Noria is NOT just a leveling map — it's where the Chaos Goblin lives. This means you'll return to Noria throughout the entire game for Wing crafting, Fenrir crafting, and all other combinations. Even a level 400 Grand Master visits Noria regularly.

Noria — the Elf homeland and crafting hub

Map overview:

What Noria is:
→ Forest/nature-themed map
→ The Fairy Elf's starting city (on some servers)
→ Home of the Chaos Goblin (Chaos Machine)
→ Level range: 1-30 for active farming

Location: accessible from Lorencia and/or via warp

---

Noria NPCs:

Standard NPCs in Noria:

Chaos Goblin (Chaos Machine):
→ The most important NPC in Noria
→ All Chaos Goblin combinations happen here:
  → Wing L1, L2, L3 crafting
  → Fenrir all stages
  → Dinorant creation
  → Ancient items
  → Sealed Kalima Gate tickets
→ ALWAYS returns to Noria for combinations

Jewel Dealer / Item Shop:
→ Sells basic items and some jewels
→ Similar to Lorencia's shops

Warehouse:
→ Personal storage (linked to all city warehouses)

Event NPC (some servers):
→ Blood Castle registration
→ Devil Square registration

---

Monsters in Noria:

Primary farming targets (level 1-30):

Goblin (most common):
→ Level requirement: 1-20
→ HP: very low
→ EXP: good for level 5-15
→ Drops: basic items, occasional Jewel of Bless
→ Spawn density: high — great for AoE farming at low level

Elite Goblin:
→ Level requirement: 15-25
→ HP: low-medium
→ EXP: better than regular Goblin
→ Drops: improved items

Beetle:
→ Level requirement: 5-15
→ HP: low
→ EXP: moderate
→ Drops: standard early items

UNICORN (critical farming target):
→ Level requirement: any
→ HP: medium (tougher than surrounding monsters)
→ Special drop: UNICORN HORN (5 needed for Dinorant crafting)
→ Even end-game players farm Unicorns for Horns
→ Spawn location: specific area in Noria (ask other players or check map)

---

Why end-game players return to Noria:

1. Chaos Goblin combinations:
→ Every Wing craft requires the Chaos Goblin
→ Every Fenrir stage requires the Chaos Goblin
→ Every Kalima ticket requires the Chaos Goblin
→ This guarantees Noria traffic at all character levels

2. Unicorn Horn farming:
→ Building a Dinorant: need 5x Unicorn Horn
→ Even at level 400: Unicorn monsters in Noria are the source
→ Quick farm: a few minutes in Noria with AoE skills = 5 Horns

3. Community gathering:
→ Players gather near the Chaos Goblin to show combinations
→ Occasionally trade near the combination area

Devias — the ice map

Map overview:

What Devias is:
→ Ice-themed region (snow, frost, cold visual aesthetic)
→ More dangerous than Lorencia and Noria
→ Level range: 15-50 for efficient farming
→ Gateway to the Dungeon path

---

Devias NPCs:

Standard NPCs:

City NPCs (standard set):
→ Weapon shop, Armor shop, Potion seller
→ Warehouse (linked to all cities)

Blacksmith (some versions):
→ Basic item combination or enhancement
→ Server-dependent

Special:
→ Some servers place premium NPCs in Devias
→ Check with other players

---

Monsters in Devias:

Zone 1 — Entry level monsters (level 15-30):

Yeti:
→ HP: medium
→ EXP: much better than Lorencia/Noria
→ Recommended: level 15-25
→ Safe approach: stay near entrance, retreat if overwhelmed

Ice Monster / Frost Monster:
→ Level requirement: 20-30
→ HP: medium
→ Drops: better items than early maps
→ Good transition target from Lorencia

Zone 2 — Mid Devias (level 30-45):

Assassin:
→ Level requirement: 30-40
→ HP: medium-high
→ Notable: moves fast, can be aggressive
→ Better EXP than Zone 1 monsters
→ Drops: occasional Excellent items

Poison Golem:
→ Level requirement: 35-45
→ HP: high
→ Slow but very high HP
→ Better drops than standard monsters

Zone 3 — High Devias (level 40-55):

Dark Knight (Devias version):
→ Level requirement: 40-50
→ HP: high
→ EXP: excellent for level 40-55
→ Reasonable drops
→ The "elite" monsters before transitioning to Dungeon

Ice Queen (boss-type):
→ Some versions have a stronger version
→ Better drops when killed

---

Recommended progression in Devias:

Level 15-25: Yeti and Ice Monsters near entrance
Level 25-35: Assassins in the middle zone
Level 35-50: Poison Golem, Dark Knight versions in deeper Devias
Level 50+: Move to Dungeon / Lost Tower

---

Why Devias is better than staying in Lorencia/Noria:

EXP comparison (approximate):
→ Goblin in Noria (level 15 character): 500 EXP per kill
→ Yeti in Devias (level 15 character): 1500 EXP per kill
→ 3x more EXP for the same time investment

Item quality:
→ Devias monsters drop better Excellent items than Noria
→ Occasional good item drops start here (weapons/armor worth upgrading)

Progression advice

Optimal path through both maps:

Level 1-10: Lorencia
→ Bug, Budge Dragon — get the basics

Level 10-20: Noria
→ Goblin, Elite Goblin — better EXP
→ Find the Chaos Goblin early (important for later)
→ Optionally: farm a few Unicorn Horns (put aside for Dinorant)

Level 20-30: Transition to Devias
→ Yeti and Ice Monster — much better EXP
→ Start accumulating items for upgrading

Level 30-45: Devias mid-zone
→ Assassins for steady EXP
→ By now should have +3 to +5 gear

Level 45-60: Move to Dungeon
→ Devias starts falling behind Dungeon EXP at this range
→ Stronger monsters, better drops

---

Common mistakes in Noria/Devias:

Mistake 1: Not finding the Chaos Goblin early
→ Players miss it → find out later → didn't know Noria had it
→ Fix: visit Noria's Chaos Goblin area as soon as you arrive

Mistake 2: Staying in Noria too long
→ Noria's EXP is only good to ~level 20
→ Moving to Devias at level 15-18 is strongly encouraged

Mistake 3: Entering Devias without potions
→ Yeti hits noticeably harder than Noria monsters
→ Always buy 50+ potions before entering Devias for the first time

Mistake 4: Ignoring Unicorn Horns
→ Unicorn Horns look like junk but are for Dinorant crafting
→ If you see Unicorns: farm 5 Horns, put in warehouse
→ You'll thank yourself when you start Dinorant crafting later
Nota: The most important non-obvious thing about Noria is the Chaos Goblin. New players often don't realize this NPC exists until they need it — and then they have to go find it. Discovering the Chaos Goblin early and understanding what it does (Wing crafting, Fenrir, Dinorant) transforms your understanding of the entire S6 economy. Make finding it one of your first goals when you arrive in Noria.
Atenção: Devias is the first map where the "just run into things" approach starts failing. The Assassin monster specifically can two-hit kill a level 30 character without proper gear. Before entering Devias: make sure your armor is at least +3, bring 50+ large potions, and stay near the map entrance at first. A character who dies in Devias from rushing might lose significant EXP and items. Test the waters before charging deep into the map.

See also the Dungeon and Lost Tower guide (the next maps after Noria/Devias), the Chaos Goblin combinations guide (what the Chaos Machine in Noria can do), and the Dinorant guide (why those Unicorn Horns you're ignoring matter so much).

Frequently asked questions

Which class is Noria best for?

Noria is the Fairy Elf's homeland — the Elf class starts here rather than Lorencia on some server configurations. But all classes benefit from Noria at level 1-30. More importantly: the Chaos Goblin (the crafting NPC) is typically in Noria, which makes Noria critical for ALL classes at all levels (you return to Noria every time you need to combine items).

What level is recommended for Devias?

Devias is recommended around level 15-50. It's MU's ice region — monsters include Yeti, Ice Monster, Assassin, and Poison Golem at higher areas. The EXP jump from Lorencia to Devias is significant. Don't enter Devias before level 15 (monsters can kill undergeared characters quickly).

Where is the Chaos Goblin?

On most S6 servers: the Chaos Goblin (Chaos Machine) is in Noria. It's one of the most important NPCs in the game — you need it for Wing crafting, Fenrir crafting, Dinorant crafting, and all other item combinations. When you need to combine anything: you're going to Noria.

What are Unicorn Horns and why are they in Noria?

Unicorn monsters (Unicorn) spawn in Noria. When killed, they drop Unicorn Horns — the material needed to craft Horn of Dinorant (step 1 of Dinorant creation). You need 5x Unicorn Horn. Even at end-game: players return to Noria's Unicorn spawn to farm Horn for Dinorant crafting.
