What Are Socket Items

Socket Items are special pieces of equipment introduced in Season 6 that have between 1 and 5 built-in sockets. Unlike regular items with random excellent options, Socket Items allow direct customization: you choose which Seeds to insert in each socket, shaping the equipment to fit your character's build and playstyle.

Socket Items display a socket icon in the equipment slot and can be obtained as drops from monsters starting in zone-level areas such as Kanturu, Aida, Swamp of Calmness, and higher-tier maps. The base quality of the item (upgrade level +0 to +15) is independent of the sockets.

Nota: Socket Items can have between 1 and 5 sockets. An item with 5 filled sockets and maximum-level Seeds far surpasses any conventional Excellent item in terms of raw attributes added.

How Seeds Work

Seeds are gems that fit into sockets. Each Seed belongs to an elemental sphere (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Thunder, Darkness) and provides a bonus type (STR, AGI, VIT, ENE, additional DEF, additional HP, Damage, etc.). The Seed's level determines the bonus value:

Seed Level 1 → +10 to the attribute
Seed Level 2 → +20 to the attribute
Seed Level 3 → +40 to the attribute
Seed Level 4 → +70 to the attribute
Seed Level 5 → +100 to the attribute

To insert a Seed into a Socket Item, visit the Seed Master NPC in Lorencia (coordinates 130, 110) and select "Insert Seed." The process costs no Zen but requires the item to have an available socket.

Combining Seeds from different spheres in the same item can activate elemental set bonuses, which are listed in the item's description when the correct combination is achieved. For example, 3 Fire Seeds in the same item activate an additional Fire Damage bonus.

Obtaining Seeds: Drops, Crafting, and Spheres

Raw (unrefined) Seeds drop from specific monsters depending on the sphere:

  • Fire Seeds (Level 1-2): Balrog (Dungeon, level 56-65), Death Knight (Balgass Refuge, level 110-120)
  • Water Seeds (Level 1-2): Ice Monster (Icarus, level 86-98), Kundun Servant (Kalima 4-5)
  • Earth Seeds (Level 2-3): Erohim (Aida, level 108-115), Stone Golem (Land of Trials)
  • Wind Seeds (Level 2-4): Tantalos (Kanturu, level 102-114), Zaikan (Aida 2)
  • Thunder Seeds (Level 3-5): Medusa (Swamp of Calmness, level 108-115), Guardian (Kanturu Relics)
  • Darkness Seeds (Level 4-5): Kundun (Kalima 7), Dark Elf Boss (Balgass Refuge)
Atenção: Raw Seeds must be refined before use. Take the raw Seed to the Seed Researcher NPC (Lorencia 128, 112) and combine it with a Jewel of Harmony or Gemstone to refine it. The level of the refined Seed may vary — there is a chance it will increase or remain at the base level.

For Level 4 and 5 Seeds, the most efficient route is farming Swamp of Calmness (requires level 380+, minimum STR 200) or participating in Kalima events to face Kundun directly.

Building the Ideal Set by Class

Seed selection depends directly on your build and class. Below are the most efficient combinations for each class in Season 6:

Blade Knight (evolved DK)

Focus on STR and VIT for physical damage and survivability:

  • Helm: 2x STR Seed Level 5 + 1x VIT Seed Level 4
  • Armor: 3x STR Seed Level 5
  • Pants: 2x VIT Seed Level 5 + 1x STR Seed Level 4
  • Gloves: 3x AGI Seed Level 4 (increases attack rate)
  • Boots: 3x AGI Seed Level 5

Grand Master (evolved DW)

Full focus on ENE for maximum magic damage:

  • Helm: 3x ENE Seed Level 5
  • Armor: 3x ENE Seed Level 5
  • Pants: 2x ENE Seed Level 5 + 1x VIT Seed Level 4
  • Gloves: 3x ENE Seed Level 4
  • Boots: 2x ENE Seed Level 4 + 1x AGI Seed Level 3

High Elf (evolved Elf)

Hybrid build emphasizing AGI and ENE:

  • Bow: 3x AGI Seed Level 5 (bow physical damage scales with AGI)
  • Armor: 2x AGI Seed Level 5 + 1x ENE Seed Level 4
  • Complement: VIT Seeds Level 4 for PvP survivability

Duel Master (MG — no 1st or 2nd quest)

The MG does not complete the standard evolution quests and cannot equip a Level 1 Wing. Compensate with a hybrid STR+ENE build:

  • Sword + Staff: 3x STR Seed Level 5 on main weapon, 3x ENE Seed Level 5 on secondary
  • Armor: mix of STR and ENE Seeds Level 4-5

Lord Emperor (evolved DL)

The only class with the CMD stat. CMD Seeds affect the size and damage of the Dark Horse and Dark Raven:

  • Helm: 2x CMD Seed Level 5 + 1x STR Seed Level 4
  • Armor: 2x STR Seed Level 5 + 1x CMD Seed Level 4
  • Scepter: 3x ENE Seed Level 5
Dica: For the Lord Emperor, do not neglect CMD Seeds even if they seem less impactful. With high CMD, the Dark Horse deals significant damage in PvP and the Dark Raven automatically regenerates HP, reducing the need for potions in long dungeons.

Progression Strategy: From Basic to a Complete Set

Build your set in stages to avoid wasting resources:

Phase 1 (Level 200-300): Obtain basic Socket Items as drops in Aida or Kanturu. Insert available Level 1-2 Seeds. Do not invest rare Seeds in items you plan to replace.

Phase 2 (Level 300-380): Farm Swamp of Calmness and Balgass Refuge for Level 3-4 Seeds. Start building your definitive set. Prioritize armor pieces before accessories.

Phase 3 (Level 380+): Hunt Level 5 Seeds in Kalima 6-7 and boss events. Fill all 5 sockets on each set piece. Check the item description for activated elemental bonuses.

The Zen cost for refining high-level Seeds can reach 50,000,000 Zen per attempt. Keep a stock of at least 200,000,000 Zen before beginning intensive refinement.

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Do not insert Seeds into temporary items. Extraction preserves the Seed but there is a chance of level downgrade — Level 5 Seeds can revert to Level 4 during the process.

Do not mix spheres randomly hoping to activate elemental bonuses. Check the combination table at the Seed Master NPC before inserting. Some combinations have no elemental bonus, and it is better to focus on Seeds of the same attribute to maximize value per socket.

For characters in the leveling phase (below level 300), well-upgraded Excellent items still outperform Socket Items with low-level Seeds. Only migrate to Socket Items when you can insert Level 3 Seeds or higher.

Perguntas frequentes

What is a Socket Item?

It is a piece of equipment with up to 5 sockets where Seeds can be inserted to add attribute bonuses such as STR, AGI, VIT, and ENE to your character.

What is the minimum level to use Socket Items?

It depends on the item. Most high-level Socket Items require a character between level 300 and 400, plus specific STR and AGI values to equip.

Are Level 4 and 5 Seeds worth the investment?

Yes. Level 5 Seeds provide up to +100 to a specific attribute per socket, a far greater gain than standard options like +Lucky or +Skill.

Can I remove a Seed without destroying the item?

Yes, using the Seed Extractor at the Seed Master NPC. The process preserves the Seed but it may lose one level (Level 5 → Level 4), so plan before inserting.
