What Are Excellent Items and Why They Matter

In MU Online S6, Excellent items (identified by their golden glow and the "Exc" prefix in the name) represent the highest tier of gear accessible outside Ancient Set items. They can carry up to 6 special options simultaneously — known as Excellent options — which provide bonuses that normal equipment, even at +15 with Full Option, simply cannot match.

The six possible options for Excellent items are:

  • Excellent Damage Rate +10% (weapons)
  • Excellent Damage +Lvl/20 (weapons)
  • Attack Speed +7 (weapons)
  • Life After Kill +Mana (weapons)
  • Mana After Kill (weapons)
  • Defense Rate Increase +10% (armors)
  • Defense Increase +Lvl/20 (armors)
  • Max HP +4% (armors)
  • Max MP +4% (armors)
  • HP Recovery (armors)
  • MP Recovery (armors)
Nota: Weapons and armors have different option pools. A weapon will never have "Max HP +4%" and an armor will never have "Excellent Damage Rate." Always verify the item category before planning your build.

For classes like the Dark Knight (DK) focused on PvP, the priority Excellent options on weapons are Excellent Damage Rate +10% and Attack Speed +7. For the Dark Wizard (DW), high ENE already ensures strong spell damage, so sustain options like Mana After Kill become valuable during extended farming sessions. The Dark Lord (DL) relies on CMD in addition to conventional stats, and its armors benefit enormously from Max HP +4% given its role as a frontliner with summoned units.

Required Materials for Chaos Combination

All Excellent item crafting goes through the Chaos Goblin Machine, located in Noria (near NPC Gremory). The process consumes specific materials and Zen, and failures destroy the ingredients with no refund.

Base Recipe: Upgrading a Normal Item to Excellent

This is the most commonly used recipe among intermediate players who already have their desired base item:

Chaos Combination → Excellent Base Item
→ Target item (minimum +4, no additional option)
→ 1x Jewel of Chaos
→ 1x Jewel of Creation
→ Zen: 3,000,000 to 7,000,000 (varies by item level)
→ Success rate: ~70%

Advanced Recipe: Excellent with Additional Option

To attempt forcing specific options or increasing the number of Excellent options:

Chaos Combination → Excellent with Luck
→ Excellent base item (at least 2 options)
→ 1x Jewel of Chaos
→ 1x Jewel of Bless
→ 1x Jewel of Soul
→ Zen: 5,000,000+
→ Success rate: ~50-60%
Atenção: Never use items at +9 or above as Chaos Combination ingredients unless you fully understand the risk. Failure completely destroys the item, including all upgrades and Jewels invested in it. Save your best upgrades until after the crafting is confirmed successful.

Where to Farm Materials

Crafting efficiency depends directly on how much material you can accumulate. Below are the best farming zones by character level:

Levels 1 to 150 — Lorencia and Dungeon

Monsters like Budge Dragon (Lorencia, level ~10), Hound (level ~25), and Skeleton Warrior (Dungeon B1, level ~45) drop Jewels of Bless and Soul at low frequency. This phase is about initial accumulation. Prioritize reaching level 80+ before investing in crafting.

Levels 150 to 250 — Atlans and Lost Tower

Lizard Warrior (Atlans B1, level ~95), Valkyrie (Atlans B2, level ~105), and Stone Golem (Lost Tower B4, level ~115) have reasonable Jewel drop rates and occasionally drop low-level Excellent items. Directly dropped Excellent items are valid ingredients for advanced recipes.

Levels 250 to 350 — Tarkan and Aida

Zaikan (Tarkan B1, level ~155), Orcus (Tarkan B2, level ~165), and Shadow (Aida B1, level ~145) are the best targets for Jewel of Chaos farming. Tarkan monsters also drop mid-tier Excellent set pieces, especially Thunder Hawk and Dark Phoenix Sets, ideal for DK and Elf respectively.

Levels 350+ — Icarus and Kanturu

Coolutin and Mutant (Icarus, level ~185-195) drop high-tier Excellent items more frequently. Iron Knight (Kanturu B1, level ~100 difficulty) drops Guardian and Storm Crow set pieces, popular for DW and Summoner.

Dica: Use characters with high AGI to increase your attack rate against fast Icarus monsters. DKs with 200+ AGI and Elfs with a Triple Shot-focused build farm Icarus with greater efficiency than other classes in that level range.

Crafting Strategy by Class

Each class has different priorities when building an Excellent set. This section details the optimal path for all six S6 classes.

Dark Knight (DK) — Blade Knight → Blade Master

Target set: Dark Phoenix Set Excellent or Dragon Knight Set Excellent Stats when wearing the set: STR 500+, AGI 200+, VIT 300+

Prioritize Excellent options on gloves and boots for Defense Rate, and on the main weapon for Excellent Damage Rate + Attack Speed. The Blade Master in PvP benefits enormously from two weapon slots, so invest in crafting both.

Dark Wizard (DW) — Soul Master → Grand Master

Target set: Storm Crow Set Excellent or Divine Set Excellent Stats when wearing the set: ENE 700+, AGI 150+, VIT 200+

Mana After Kill on the weapon (Staff or Book) eliminates the need to drink mana potions during farming. Max MP +4% on armors increases the total available mana pool for area skills like Evil Spirit and Inferno.

Elf — Muse Elf → High Elf

Target set: Dark Phoenix Set Excellent (battle build) or Wind Set Excellent (support build) Stats when wearing the set (battle): AGI 500+, STR 200+, ENE 200+

The High Elf with a powered-up Triple Shot has one of the best ranged DPS outputs on the server. Attack Speed +7 on the weapon (Crossbow or Bow) is the absolute priority.

Magic Gladiator (MG) — Duel Master

Important note: The MG does not perform the 1st or 2nd Quest and cannot equip Level 1 Wings. Its progression goes directly to Level 2 Wings. Target set: Dragon Knight Set Excellent + Excellent Staff Stats when wearing the set: STR 400+, ENE 400+, AGI 200+

The MG is a hybrid class, so Excellent items with offensive options for both physical and magical attacks are valid. Excellent Damage Rate works for both the MG's physical attacks and spells.

Dark Lord (DL) — Lord Emperor

Exclusive stat: CMD (Command) governs the quantity and strength of summoned units (Dark Horse, Dark Raven). Target set: Divine Set Excellent or Glorious Set Excellent Stats when wearing the set: ENE 400+, CMD 300+, VIT 400+, STR 300+

Max HP +4% on armor pieces is essential for the DL to survive in high-risk zones where summoned units are engaging multiple enemies simultaneously.

Summoner — Bloody Summoner → Dimension Master

Target set: Iris Set Excellent or Legendary Set Excellent Stats when wearing the set: ENE 600+, AGI 200+, VIT 250+

The Summoner relies almost entirely on ENE to scale damage. Mana After Kill and MP Recovery on Excellent items drastically reduce the operational cost of her summoning and debuff skills.

Optimizing the Process: Advanced Tips

Batch crafting: Gather 10 to 20 base items before starting your crafting session. Batch sessions maintain the right mindset about failure rates and avoid frustration from isolated failures.

Option priority: Do not chase 6/6 options immediately. An item with 2 ideal options (e.g., Excellent Damage Rate + Attack Speed) is superior to an item with 5 mediocre options. Focus on the right options, not the quantity.

Jewel of Harmony post-crafting: After confirming the desired Excellent options, apply a Jewel of Harmony to add a final layer of bonuses (e.g., Increase Attack Power for weapons, Increase Defense for armors). This brings the item to its maximum potential.

Zen management: The Zen cost during intensive crafting sessions can exceed 100,000,000 in a single session. Farm Zen in parallel through Blood Castle (rewards 3,000,000-8,000,000 per run depending on the stage) and Devil Square (variable reward by level).

Dica: Participate in events like Blood Castle (BC1 to BC7) and Devil Square (DS1 to DS6) daily. Beyond Zen, these events drop Jewels and occasionally Excellent items, fueling your crafting cycle without additional dedicated farming costs.

Realistic Progression: From Week 1 to Your First Complete Set

Days 1-7: Farm in Dungeon and Atlans accumulating at least 30x Jewel of Bless, 30x Jewel of Soul, and 10x Jewel of Chaos. Reach level 200+.

Days 8-14: Begin crafting individual pieces starting with the least critical slots (helm and armor). Accept results with 1-2 options to avoid blocking progress.

Days 15-30: With a character at 250-300, farm in Tarkan and Icarus for directly dropped Excellent items. Use them as a base for advanced combinations targeting specific options.

Week 5+: Pieces with 3+ relevant options in all slots. Begin applying Jewel of Harmony and +9 to +13 upgrades on confirmed pieces.

A complete Excellent set with good options completely transforms character performance in both PvP and PvE, representing the true progression milestone in MU Online S6.

Perguntas frequentes

What are Excellent options?

Special bonuses that appear on items with a golden glow, such as Life After Kill, Mana After Kill, Excellent Damage Rate, Defense Rate Increase, Max HP Increase, and Max MP Increase. Each item can have up to 6 Excellent options.

What is the success rate for Chaos Combination when crafting Excellent items?

The base rate varies between 50% and 80% depending on the recipe. Using more Zen and higher-quality materials slightly increases the chance. There is no success guarantee.

Can I craft high-level Excellent items directly?

No. You craft the base Excellent item first and then upgrade it normally (+1 to +15) using Jewels of Bless and Soul. Excellent items do not start at a high level automatically.

Does Jewel of Harmony work on Excellent items?

Yes. You can add Harmony options to Excellent items normally, combining Excellent bonuses with Harmony bonuses to build extremely powerful sets.
