Ancient Items Hunt Guide: Where to Farm Ancient Sets in MU
Find the best locations, monsters, and strategies to farm Ancient Items in MU Online S6 and build your perfect ancient set.
What Are Ancient Items and Why Farm Them
Ancient Items are rare equipment in MU Online S6 that carry exclusive fixed bonuses — called ancient options — on top of an item's normal stats. These bonuses include direct increases to STR, AGI, VIT, ENE, damage, defense, and even special abilities that exist nowhere else in the game.
Unlike Excellent Items, Ancient Items belong to named sets. Equipping 2, 3, or more pieces from the same set activates progressive set bonuses that can completely transform your character's efficiency in both PvP and PvE.
The most sought-after sets in S6 are:
| Set | Primary Classes | Min Level | Standout Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Darkangel | DK, DL | 120 | +STR, magic damage, high defense |
| Hyon | DK | 100 | Attack speed, STR |
| Agnis | DW, Summoner | 100 | Massive +ENE, resistances |
| Semeden | Elf | 110 | +AGI, skill damage |
| Sylion | MG | 100 | Combined +STR, +ENE |
| Anubis | DW, Grand Master | 110 | +ENE, casting speed |
Farm Locations by Character Level
The map where you should farm ancients depends directly on your level and your character's damage output and survivability. Farming in the wrong map means constant death and zero efficiency.
Level 40–80: Devias and Dungeon
In Devias (Devias 1–3) you find the first useful ancients:
- Yeti (level 82) — drops Bronze and Pad set ancients
- Werewolf (level 78) — Leather set ancients
- Hommerd (level 94) — mid-tier ancients
In Dungeon (Dungeon 1–3):
- Devil (level 56) and Hell Spider (level 60) — Bone and Sphinx ancients
- Gorgon (level 74) — Sphinx and Scale ancients
Dungeon 1 → Dungeon 2 → Dungeon 3 route:
Dungeon 1 entrance → sweep central corridors
→ climb to Dungeon 2 (monsters level 60–70)
→ upper Dungeon 3 (monsters level 80–95)
→ return to start (respawn ~3 minutes)
Level 80–110: Losttower and Atlans
Losttower (LT 1–7) is the main destination for levels 80–100:
- Death Angel (level 94) — LT3 and LT4, drops Dark and Plate ancients
- Death Centurion (level 102) — LT5 and LT6
- Balrog (level 108) — LT7, chance at Darkangel and Dragon ancients
Atlans (Atlans 1–3):
- Bahamut (level 100) — drops Adamantine set ancients
- Hydra (level 100) — Plate and Dragon ancients
- Silver Valkyrie (level 105) — Seraphim ancients (Elf)
Level 110–150: Aida and Kanturu
Aida (Aida 1–2) — versatile map for level 110+:
- Bali (level 117) — Adamantine and Dark Soul ancients
- Soldier (level 120) — high-tier ancients
- Aida Boss (Kundun 3) — guaranteed drop of tier-3+ ancients
Kanturu (Kanturu 1–3):
- Grizzly (level 115) — Kanturu 1
- Bloody Soldier (level 120) — Kanturu 2
- Iron Wheel (level 125) — Kanturu 3, rare ancients from Hyon and Sylion sets
Kanturu 3 route (level 120+):
Spawn → sweep north room (Iron Wheels)
→ east corridor (Mechanical Golems, level 130)
→ south room (Recluse, level 128)
→ return to spawn
Cycle: ~8 minutes | EXP/hour: excellent
Farm Strategy for Each Class
Dark Knight (Blade Knight / Blade Master)
Distribute stats focusing on STR with enough VIT to absorb incoming damage:
- STR: 60–65% of points
- AGI: minimum required to equip target gear
- VIT: 25–30% of points
- ENE: base minimum only
Use Spiral Slash and Death Stab for single targets; use Twisting Slash for groups. In LT6 and LT7, combining partial Darkangel + Sword of Destruction significantly increases clear speed.
Dark Wizard (Soul Master / Grand Master)
Focus on ENE to maximize magic damage:
- ENE: 70%+ of points
- VIT: 20–25% (never neglect — GM dies easily)
- STR/AGI: minimum required for equipment
Use Nova and Inferno in Aida to wipe groups. In Kanturu, Ice Storm with high ENE (800+) eliminates Iron Wheels in 2–3 hits.
Elf (Muse Elf / High Elf)
Distribute between AGI and VIT:
- AGI: 55–60% of points (increases bow damage and defense)
- VIT: 30% of points
- ENE: 10–15% to increase skill damage
Multi-shot and Penetration are the main farm skills. In Atlans, Silver Valkyrie falls fast with Penetration + Power Arrows.
Magic Gladiator (Duel Master)
MG does not perform the 1st or 2nd class promotion quests but compensates with versatility. Distribute:
- STR: 40%
- AGI: 30%
- ENE: 20%
- VIT: 10% (MG has a high HP bonus per level)
Dark Lord (Lord Emperor)
DL uses the CMD stat to increase the damage and HP of summoned horses and servants:
- STR: 35%
- AGI: 20%
- VIT: 25%
- ENE: 10%
- CMD: 10% (minimum 200 for high-level Dark Horse to be useful)
When farming solo, Dark Horse + Fire Scream performs excellently in LT5–LT7.
Summoner (Bloody Summoner / Dimension Master)
Put nearly everything into ENE:
- ENE: 75%+
- VIT: 20%
- STR/AGI: minimum for equipment
Decay and Dimension Scar are the most efficient farm skills. In Aida 2, a Dimension Master can wipe entire groups with a single Decay sequence.
Set Bonuses: How to Maximize Your Return
Each ancient belongs to a named set. Equipping multiple pieces from the same set activates progressive bonuses:
Example: Hyon Set (DK) — bonuses by equipped pieces:
2 pieces → +15 STR, +10% attack speed
3 pieces → +25 STR, +15% attack speed
4 pieces → +40 STR, +20% attack speed, +5% critical damage
5 pieces → +60 STR, +25% attack speed, +10% critical damage
Prioritize completing the set before optimizing individual item options (+luck, +skill, etc.). A fully activated set bonus outperforms isolated pieces with excellent options in the majority of farming scenarios.
Bosses for High-Tier Ancient Items
For the rarest and most powerful ancients, bosses are mandatory:
- Kundun 4 and 5 — Crywolf, recommended level 300+, drops tier-4–5 ancients
- Selupan — Raklion, recommended level 350+, exclusive drops of rare sets
- Medusa — Atlans 3, recommended level 250+, Seraphim and Adamantine ancients
- Dark Elf — Lorencia, field boss, low-to-mid level ancients
Organize parties for bosses. DK and DL serve as tanks; DW and Summoner as DPS; Elf as support (heal + buffs with Bless and Defense).
Pre-Hunt Checklist for Ancient Farming
Before heading out to farm, verify:
- Adequate level for the map (avoid maps with monsters 30+ levels above you)
- Potions stocked up (minimum 200 HP Pots and 100 Mana Pots per 1-hour session)
- Antidotes for Atlans and Aida
- Inventory space (ancients are 2x2 to 2x4 items)
- Town Portal Scrolls or Scroll of Town (for quick return to the city)
- Wings or Cape equipped (mobility is crucial in large maps)
Perguntas frequentes
Do Ancient Items drop only from monsters or also from bosses?
Both. Bosses like Kundun and Selupan have significantly higher drop rates for high-tier ancients.
Which class is most efficient for farming ancients?
DK (Blade Master) with Darkangel or Dragon set provides high survivability; DW (Grand Master) AoE clears groups fast in maps like Aida and Kanturu.
Do Ancient Items have a minimum level requirement?
Yes. Tier-1 ancients (Bronze/Pad/Leather) require character level 40+; top-tier ones like Darkangel require level 120+ and high STR/AGI stats.
Can ancient options be combined with excellent options on the same item?
No. Ancient Items and Excellent Items are distinct categories; a single item cannot carry both types of options simultaneously.
